We continued our journey to Santiago. One thing I have resized is that the people who paved the road did not care about getting to Santiago, but to get as close to God as possible. As the mountains got higher and nicer the shrines were. As we travelled up the Santa Lucia we had to take a few breaks. This was a very steep climb for the pilgrims. They designed it in a way to let the pilgrims suffer in a way that Jesus suffered on his was to being crucified. On the way, Thomas and I we talking about how I was going to do the Calvary with Melinda. The time went by quickly when I found myself peering up the mountain ready to start. The second drcena was harder then the first, by the third chapel we were leaning on each other just so we could keep on going. Then by the fifth chapel my knees were throbbing with pain, and then the sixth chapel came along. By then they were only half done, they could look back over the valleys as the sun was setting. For the rest of the way it felt like my pants we biting into my knees. I felt very faint but I finally made it up. When we got to the top I broke a fever so I was to stay at the hospice till I was better. But a few days later I got better and slept like a baby. Then we went on to continue our journey. But as we were travelling I asked Thomas if we could go off the path and, like Thomas said, take the one less traveled by. I had no urge to go home anyway. I loved cooking hunting, and just seeing everything along the way. So we started to walk down the path less traveled by.
